Clubjobs.ca turned a previously difficult process into something that is a pleasure to manage, and when managed efficiently, ensures the best qualified and most interested people are even selected for a face to face interview.

At Brantford Golf & Country Club this year, all of our initial interviews were done on-line through Clubjobs.ca, from the dishwasher to grounds staff to the chef and even the Clubhouse Manager.  No job is too big or too small, important or significant, so is it is not included on our mirror employment website which is linked directly to the Clubjobs website.  Keeping the postings on the site, even after the positions were filled, ensured the amount of available talent did not ‘dry up’ mid season which had been the case in the past.

Clubjobs saves my managers and I time as we now have the opportunity to view the thoughts and opinions of candidates in writing, where they have had an opportunity to articulate their beliefs first hand.  Candidates that cannot fill out an on-line questionnaire are easily dismissed as uninterested or incompatible to the culture of openness that exists at the club now.  Clubjobs provided us information regarding the number of candidates who began the process on-line, and those that finished it.  I figure I wasted 50% less time than if I had to meet these candidates and not hire them because of the attitude and beliefs they demonstrated in person.

The program that clubjobs.ca developed for the private club industry streamlines the HR process for both departmental managers and prospective candidates. The result of providing and online application with appropriate interview questions saves valuable time and resources that historically have been addressed by club management. No longer are we faced with the prospective of sorting through resumes that may or may not be appropriate for the positions posted. It is my belief that if more of my peers can be convinced to participate in the program we will all share in the benefits of a nationally recognized website/program branded to promoting the private club industry.
